Faith

The object of our faith matters. If we have faith in something unreliable, it means very little. Understanding God’s nature is vital. If we understand that God is love, and what that really means, we can trust Him without any reservations. Sin has warped our minds so badly that we may not even understand the concept of unconditional love. When we think of God as our father, but have a horrible example in our earthly father, we may not see that as a good thing. And so as we are renewed by Christ, we need to gain a new understanding of what the original meaning of father is, and what love really means. Only then can we throw ourselves into God’s arms confidently without fear or mistrust. That’s faith!
