The look of love

When you find yourself face down in the dirt, and people are walking all over you, you feel pretty low. But along comes Jesus, he runs over to you, lifts your head, wipes the dirt off your face and looks at you with such love, as no man is capable of. You don’t need for him to point out to you how you got here in the first place you are fully aware of how you weren’t paying attention to what you should have, tripped and fell. You know that others instead of helping you up kept stepping on you instead to push your face further into the sand. Jesus looks upon us with loving eyes. He then quickly helps you back up, thereby restoring you back in your previous position, and now you’re upright again, the same as everyone else around you.
This picture of restoration and unconditional love should be reflected in all followers of Christ. We are to be imitators of our savior who didn’t hesitate to embrace those who have gotten themselves into a messy situation. He looked at them with a look of love that we truly are incapable of. That is why we use judgment instead of restoration when we see sin in someone else’s life so often. But what we should do is love them like Jesus. We should have their best in mind, restoring them to their upright walk in Christ again not to shun them until they crawl away hurt by those who claim to love God and people. Let us love with words and deeds. Then we will be credible witnesses to the world, and practice what we are charged to do.
